Top 100 Songs

So the other day Tom and I decided that we were each going to list our top 100 favorite songs. It seemed simple enough, but now i'm not so sure. Its hard to choose, it's like where do you begin?

For me a lot more things seem to be popping up, like I really like certain songs, but because the song reminds me of a certain person or time... and that doesn't necassarily make it good music, now does it. So which do you rank, favorite good songs or just straight favorite songs? We also decided to put a cap on it, no more than 5 songs from one artist... because each of us has an artist or two we could list 15 songs from. Mariah Carey and Aerosmith seem to be the two i'm having trouble deciding which songs are better than others. I can't even begin thinking about putting them in a ranked order... how does one do that? And for me I think its harder because I like so many different types of music (pop, rock, country) how do you even compare Aerosmith with NSync... i know some might say its obvious, but for me it gets really tricky.

Well when i finally complete my list i'll post it in here for you all to view (if you're even interested).
