This was in a daily newsletter i receive from MediaLife Magazine, regarding an Honesty & Ethics poll done by Gallup. Apparently people who work in advertising are ranked 3rd to last in regards to honesty & ethics (and how much they're trusted). The only other professions lower were Car Salesmen and Telemarketers.
Just an interesting bit of information... not that it's surprising, but now that i'm one of them it's kind of hard to swallow.
When it comes to who’s honest and ethical in the workplace, the perception of those who work in advertising is about as high as a toadstool. A new Gallup poll asking respondents to rate the honesty and ethics of different professions reveals that ad people rank above only car salesmen and telemarketers. Just 11 percent of those surveyed give high marks to advertising people, compared with 8 percent for car salesmen and 7 percent for telemarketers. Journalists fared much better, with 28 percent giving them a high rating.
