But I'm a Book Junkie Too!

So i just ranted on and on about what TV junkie I am and then I realized I'm also a book junkie -- so i'm not totally rotting my brain :) Then I remembered I've read a few books since I last reviewed Everyone Worth Knowing.

From there I read "Good in Bed" by Jennifer Weiner. I've had this book for quite some time, as Amy let me borrow it and then she forgot I had it and she re-bought it -- so it's mine to keep (woo hoo!). This is the story of a plus size girl who breaks up with her boyfriend. Then a few months after their break up he starts writing a column titled "Good In Bed" in a national women's magazine. His first article is about loving a plus sized girl. Of course the main character is completely offended and pissed (but everyone else seems to think it's a praise). Then she realizes she wants to be with him, but he's already moved on. After a one last encounter she winds up pregnant with his baby. When she writes him a letter to let him know she NEVER hears from him. (first of all, what an ass). That's probably giving away too much of the story, so I won't go any further. All in all it was a decent book, not a favorite but still worth reading if you've run out of other books. :)

So even though that book wasn't the most fascinating, I read another Jennifer Weiner book after that called "Little Earthquakes." This is one that Patti (a former co-worker) leant me. This one was much better than "Good in Bed." This tell the story of 3 women who meet during a yoga class for pregnant women. Each with very different stories of love, marriage and pregnancy. Then they meet a fourth woman who has left her LA life behind after her infant son dies. It's a very touching story as these women bond over motherhood and struggle with work, marriage and life. :) It's a good read, so I'd recommend picking it up.

Cheers!
